Good to see him out front like that, they've been
doing good this year and certainly deserved the win!

Just watched Tony Stewarts interview and was pretty dissapointed he had nothing good to say about Jr. Maybe he was pissed about the ASS WHIPPING he got on the track from Jr..i use to like him but he is acting more and more like one of the Bush boys----

Junior put it on them this afternoon! So glad he got that monkey off his back.

Now comes the inevitable " So, when are you gonna win again?".

Im glad for Jr., he has the IMPOSSIBLE task of living up to Dale Sr. People constantly talk crap about him so I am glad he won and is #2 in the standings. Tony Stewart is nothing but a sore loser, Ive never liked him because of his attitude.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. He has all the resources that one could imagine, so it wasn't a matter of "if", just "when" he would win. Congrats to Jr and all his fans, as he had a dominate car, hands down.

I'm not buying the fact that he has to live up to his Father's name, that boat sailed many years ago. Critics were on his case because it took 4 years to get to victory lane with Hendrick behind him. That has nothing to do with his Father. Granted he is a Earnhardt, so people are always going to expect great things from him, that's not his fault. But what is his fault is his lack of communication, which he's been getting better about. Hints why he's had so many crewchiefs in his career....

He's a good driver, but nowhere can he be compared to Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace, Daryl Waltrip, Benny Parson, David Pearson or any of the other "Greats". And people that do try to compare him to his Father, IMO- have no earthly idea the concept of NASCAR.

I'm not sure which interview you watched, but the one I watched Tony was smiling and talked about how proud he was of his crew. Saturday he was 27th quickest and finished 2nd. He also gave a TON of credit to Goodyear for the tires that they brought. Granted, he never once commented on Jr's win, but is he supposed too? I'm not sure I understand why or how you're getting that Tony was disappointed..... Any time Tony smiles, he's happy.

Direct from Yahoo sports about Dale Jr living up to Dale Sr. and the fans expectations:

The truth is Junior isn't nor has ever been overrated. If anything, the critics' complaints that he is a crappy driver is misdirected anger aimed not at Earnhardt, but rather at preserving his father's legend.

Junior will be the first to acknowledge that he isn't his father and that he owes his popularity almost entirely to his dad. Sure, he has more fans than he otherwise would, but he was still an 18-time winner throughout the entire losing streak, a number that puts him in the Hall of Fame conversation.

Another direct quote from Tony Stewart, he is simply a sore loser and jealous of Dale Jr's popularity:

Oh, there will celebrations across Junior Nation now that their driver's 143-race losing streak is over "National holiday tomorrow," Tony Stewart said as Junior took the checkered flag but just as he's done throughout these four long years, Junior won't get caught up in it. When he hopped out of his car, he immediately thanked his fans "They stuck behind me for all these years. I appreciate their loyalty," he said but going crazy over one victory isn't in his blood, not when his daddy won so many races and a championship is still the ultimate goal.
