The Resurrection!

No it's not some flesh eating zombie thread. More like the revival of my 2000 Z28. Back story here https://www.moderncamaro.com/forum/mc...s-visited.html. Finally getting some time to start wrenching and since my son wanted to help great learning experience for him. The Craigslist engine was in great shape. Bearings (all of them) had little to no polishing on them so just mic'd everything to be sure and used stock size bearings and left cam bearings in. Everything cleaned up quite nicely

And after a hard day's work I have a completed rotating assembly.

Hopefully I can get to it this weekend to have atleast a completed short block and heads assembled. All specs checked out in the middle of the range so everything seems great so far. On a roll now.

Yep good times. Kind of idled right now though, hit a snag. Turns out the valves contact the pistons because of the size cam so I'm contemplating what to do next, flycut pistons (cheapest but least safe), new cam and tune kind of expensive and loosing hp, or pistons with reliefs which also aint cheap but that's as far as I can go for now, not going to make the same mistake with my other LS1. Trying to scrape up funds, took enough just to get where I'm at .
