magnetic energy generation

I came across this today. It caught my eye because I have been working on a magnet powered generator for a while, but I have not gotten it together yet. I have tested it and it worked the way is was supposed to, but I have yet to build a full working model.(I always have something else I need to buy rather than more magnets and tools to finish it)

This is nothing like mine from what I can tell, but it sounds pretty cool if it works.

Motors and generators both use magnets. With a motor, the energy input is electricity, the output is torque (or HP if rate is included). With a generator the opposite is true.

Remember conservation of energy. There are always friction losses, so less energy always comes out than goes in.

Sorry, no perpetual motion machines.

How are magnants made?

Do they contain energy?

Mine works alot like this:

I figure that the magnets will eventually quit working.
Energy in the magnets>energy out of magnets do to loss of heat energy.

I would like to finish it just to see how long it will run.

I think the magnets they are using will run out in time.

Japan has a Hybrid magnet/electromagnet motorcycle.
I would think it would have the same issue.
