OK, let's play "Name That Tune"

Hey Guys, I've got a car related song from my past that has eluded me for years, but with the help of a co-worker I finally have it in my possession.

Let's see if any of you know this song just from one verse.

It's a tough one, you are going to have to have been around awhile to know this one, because it's almost impossible to download it, find lyrics for it online, or even buy a hard copy of it. So, NAME THAT TUNE if you can.

Well, first to secondís easy, just pulliní on the stick
But itís second to third thatís got me worried Ďcause banginí out of secondís the trick
With two-three done Iím goiní to four and Iím in front by the nose
The only thing that can stop me now is if my engine blows

***if no one gets it right away I'll throw out some hints until everyone loses interest.***

My first guess would be something from the Beach Boys. You say it's hard to find the lyrics, so you might have to help us out.

Beach Boys! NO

OK, a little help. The artist/band has been recording since 1970 and the song in question appeared on a 1980 release. (if I give you the name of the album you'd be able to find it on Google)

I'll drop another bit of help tomorrow.

no, not Zeplin. If it were a Zeplin lyric it would show up on Google in a heartbeat.

This guitarist is one of the most overlooked and under-rated guitarist of our time, in fact during his heyday in the 70's few people knew his or the band's name.

OK, one more bit of help tonight then I'll check in again when I get home from work tomorrow.

The band/artist is Canadian hailing from Montreal.

I don't really have anything else without just telling the answer so, if no one gets it by this evening I'll post the answer... and the rest of the song lyrics.

There were over 200 albums released in 1980. I went through a long list of Canadian bands and some very bad music. My ears couldn't take it anymore.
