Top Gear Coming to America?

So all of the Jeremy Clarkson haters will be happy, but I'm just not sure they can pull it off. I guess we'll see.

http://gizmodo.com/344941/top-gear-c...in-remake-form

"I've got good news and bad news. First, the good: the amazing British auto show Top Gear is coming to the US! Now, the bad: it's in the form of a remake on NBC, haters of original ideas and kings of the unnecessary remake! That means that the wonderful hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond won't be involved. Instead, knowing NBC, it'll probably be hosted by Macho Man Randy Savage, Vern Troyer and Alicia Silverstone. Time will tell whether or not they'll be able to pull the remake off (they did a **** good job with The Office, after all), but I'm more than skeptical. Hit the jump to check out my favorite Top Gear segment ever and then try to imagine NBC doing something half as entertaining."

I found $80 in my jeans pocket. The kid in me said "buy nerf guns and candy!" But then the adult in me said "buy vodka, nerf guns and candy!"

Never seen it but I'm sure Jinx will be happy that Clarkson won't be here.

It should work out ok as long as they cast it properly.

But then again, this is NBC.
The same people who casted KITT as a Mustang.

Yeah, they're gonna screw this one up royally too probably.......

As will I. I can't stand that brie eating caviar snorting, pompus limp wrist. Helluva driver sure but he reminds me of Hawn's mother in the movie "Overboard".

Ill do the show and make negative hinted references of Clarkson as I do it.

I think Rhys Millen, Travis Pastrana, and John Force (so the ol guy can relax a little)

I'm glad I've never seen him. He sounds like the King of All Tools. Maybe someone will get sick of him and meet him in a dark ally.

Maybe he will drive a smart car over here, since it will be sold here, and somebody will run over him in it with a truck (54inches ). We will then see how smart that car and he is for driving it

Sold the 68

You guys fail at understand Top Gear, then. The idea is to have a few guys "cocking about" with cars. Why else would they be setting caravans on fire and building convertible vans?

Clarkson wouldn't have that job if he weren't a pompous ass. But he is (and very good at it, too).

Unrelated to the above I have very little faith in NBC pulling this off. After the 'Stang KITT idea I'm skeptical.

Formerly defunct.

I like Clarkson. The show is entertaining to me. Seriously, they praise the merits of the car while they're driving it, but when they get back to the studio, it's time for a little controversy. I think it's funny and way entertaining to watch them stammer, babble, and barb back and forth.
