ZR1 - purchase question.

Are dealers taking orders already? Can you put a deposit down already?

I don't think orders are being taken yet, but it should be happening soon.

Interested parties should contact their local Chevy dealer ASAP, because they're going to sell out in a hurry since ZR1 production is limited to 2000 per year.

Latest number we heard was 3000 available.

Some are taking deposits - some plan on marking it up. I would GUESS we'd get one, and I already have it SOLD at MSRP. But I'm not taking any $$$ until I can verify we ARE getting one.

Incidentally, they had a ZR1 Press kit at the Detroit show. Binder with carbon fiber. I was lucky to get one of these babies....,...and they've hit as high as $180ish on Ebay.....

Cool book....and I'd guess the value would go up once people start buying the cars. Just a guess though -

Okay, Just curious. Some guy was claiming to be first inline to get one, but he didn't specify if it was at his specific dealer or in the country. I found his post kind of fishy so I had to just find out myself.

Also, Chevrolet's plans were that in order to buy this car, the prospective owner would have to attend a performance driving school prior to delivery. Z06's get crashed at an alarming rate - I think it sounds like a liability factor.

If you know someone who wants one - I still have good ties with one of the USA's largest vette dealers. And I do recommend him. But expect mark up. They sold TWO Ron Fellows Z06's for $20,000 over, no problems.

Great idea - They should have done that with the Z06 IMO.

People will pay the premium to be the first on the block, no problem with that IMO. If people weren't willing to pay dealers wouldn't do it
