Sooooo I finally got to drive a G8 GT today

**** that car is gorgeous. The power is great and enough to get me in trouble. Probably not the best choice for someone with a lead foot. The only complaints I have about it are that weird stereo display that looks like a Navigation but isn't. weird. Something about the car's attitude says that it should have 4 automatic up/down windows but it doesn't. That's weird. I've come to love that feature in our Volvo. And Halogen headlights. ??? yikes.

I like the car. The price is good but I don't think I would get one unless they put some more options like Navigation in it. I live in Texas. I'm not from here and I like to leave the craphole I live in as much as often, I've become so used to Navigation. I know I'm spoiled but I'm starting to realize what options I want in a car. I just wish this one had it so I could have driven away in it. The ****ed price was almost perfect on it!!!!

I seriously think this car is one of the best that Pontiac has ever built (but nothing will ever replace my long time love the 1970 GTO Judge) and I'm really glad that I had a chance to drive it. I'm keeping it on my list but unfortunately, it doesn't hold the top spot.

Edit: I just found out that the GT runs off of 87 Octane. Hot Diggity! Looks like it just slid into first.

Still a wannabe.

You can always get a handheld GPS system for a couple hundred bucks.

I need to test drive a G8 myself.

My sister has mine. I gave her my handy-dandy GPS when I bought my in dash because I wasn't lucky enough to snag an SI with stock Nav. Unfortunately, the G8's dash doesn't look like it can take an aftermarket otherwise I'd just use that. That stereo display was an utter tease. I just told a friend with a GTO that its like a hot chick taking you shopping for lingerie and then she tells you, "it's for my boyfriend." Sooooo close, yet so far away.

Still a wannabe.

I have to add that for the last 2 hours, 2 friends have been convincing me to get the G8 Gt. They're doing a pretty darn good job. One of them owns an insanely, sick, modified '05 GTO that I lust after nightly. He's trying his hardest to land a white GT in my driveway. I wish he could teach my husband to be a little more like that. lol. My hubby likes responsible cars. I like madness on wheels.

Still a wannabe.

Still no GT in my area, but finally a V6 G8 in town, so I may go look.

Anyone know a good place to find out invoice VS MSRP prices on new cars?

2010 Stock IBM 2SS/RS

I found $80 in my jeans pocket. The kid in me said "buy nerf guns and candy!" But then the adult in me said "buy vodka, nerf guns and candy!"

Edmunds will give you the invoice on a car. NADA will too.

Cool, I thought they might, just thought I'd hijack this thread and see what people's favorite place was.

(seriously, sorry about the hijack)

I'm anxious to drive one, but won't ever buy one. No kids means I won't need more than two doors. The top Camaro is still #1 on my list. I think I still have one more soul to sell...... And I will give them my first born. I'm anxious to see if it feels as fast as my GTO. The track times say its really close. As soon as we get one at the
Pontiac dealer here I will drive my car down there on a possible trade. Sounds good.

G8 GT dyno tune for 87-octane, and AFM tuned to be more agressive.
Result: +34 rear-wheel horsepower, and a 2-3mpg gain.

http://www.5thgen.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5671

So after the tune (while leaving the car otherwise 100% stock), it'll be a 400hp, low-13-second, 28mpg sedan.

DO IT DO IT DO IT!

......or wait for the Camaro, which will likely see similar response to tuning.
