That game is like a drug. The wife had to work yesterday and I played it the whole time she was at work, then from 9 until about 12:30 last night. An absolutely amazing game.
I saw the third gens in the game, and of course, there are a bunch of pseudo first gens. The new Viper is pretty kick ass, as is the Carrera GT. The Cruiser motorcycles are pretty good (they've got that one custom bike with the big ass tires in front and back), but the sport bikes suck...They're just too unruly to ride effectively (at least fast). I keep one of the Carrera's at my safehouse pretty much constantly.
The story arc is great, without being TOO predictable. I still think that Vlad, if he wasn't gay, was bisexual. Brucie is a hilarious characterization of a good friend of mine. I can't wait until he gets back from Iraq to start calling him Brucie. I haven't devoted TOO much time to the story arc. I'm on the second mission of Malorie's second contact (Estebaneta or something is her name). There's just so much to do with going out with friends, playing pool, darts, bowling...getting drunk...etc.
Speaking of getting drunk, I think it's really ashame that MADD is speaking out against the game because it portrays drunk driving. They could really use the game at events to demonstrate the effect of drunk driving.
1st, IMO it portrays drunk driving a helluva lot better than those silly goggles. (and if you get motion sick, will probably make you a little sick).
2nd, your friends and even your own character say several times "It's probably not a good idea for me to drive." The game even prompts you the first time to call a cab and how to do it. You lose rep points with some of the g/fs if you drive drunk.
3rd, you can't go a block without the cops chasing you. If you get caught, it actually goes on your record in the police computers (which you can check when you're in a police car).
