Your age by eating out

ok you'll need a calculator. this is freaky... Got it in an email and let's just say I'm a believer.

YOUR AGE BY
EATING
OUT

Don't
tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but your waiter may
know!

YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH

DON'T
CHEAT
BY
SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It
takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read .

Be sure you don't
read the bottom until you've worked it out!

This is not one of those
waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of
times a week that you would like to go out to eat.
(more than once but less
than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday
this year add 1758...

If you haven't, add 1757.

6. Now subtract
the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit
number

The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How
many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

The next
two numbers are:

YOUR
AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!)

THIS
IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

frickin freaky, huh?

nothing about this has to do with it being 2008. i don't get that part. its not like it says add 2008. you could do these same steps any year and it would work. next year instead of adding 1757 or 1758, add 1758 or 1759. its all mathematics.

i'm sorry... i'm just nagging... its very interesting though!

When you put the year in for your birthday, it correlates to the other adds, subtracts, and multiplies somehow.

Multiplying by 2 makes your first number always even. Adding 5 garuntees its an odd number. Multiplying an odd number by 50 will always make the last 2 numbers 50. Adding that to the 1758 or 1757 ends with so 08 (or 07 if you haven't had the birthday) minus the last 2 in your birth year will give you the age part everytime.

Multiplying by 2 adding 5 and multiplying by 50 gives a base starting at 350 going up 100 for every number you add. 1=350 2=450 3=550 and so on or your original number +2 with the 50 on the end (to ensure the last 2 always end up 08). Adding the 1758 adds 1800 to the base (17+ the carried over 1) so when you subtract your 19xx the number always equals the number you picked. Basically your number +1, +18, -19 (for 1900 birthdays) or +1, +19, -20 in laymens terms.
