You have been nominated as the Member of the Month for October 2011!!! How do you feel about that?
It's Awesome! Thank you sooo much to Camaro Scotty for the nomination.
What got you started with your love for Chevy and the Camaro?
Actually my husband, Derrick, made me a Chevy girl! He always loved GM. His first car was a 1976 Cutlass. I had always loved cars, but I was more eclectic in my taste for cars. If I liked the way it looked it didn't matter who the manufacturer was. As I got older I started to realize quality was very important. I think I really fell in love with the Camaro when I was a teenager. My sister had a 4th Gen and I loved driving that car! I felt so cool!
Whats the Story Behind your 5thgen Camaro?
My husband wanted to buy me a car. Well, I really wanted a Mini Cooper...hahaha what did I know? We drove to Detroit, test drove 3 different models. Now, my husband is 6'3" so I quickly realized this vehicle was not the best choice.
So we started searching for something else. Then the Transformer movie came out and I was in love. I did some research and found out they were going to production! Oh how I wanted a vert! But the production date kept getting delayed so we decided to buy the coupe now and trade it in when the vert came out. So I went and ordered my car. Some dealership drama later and I was on the hunt for an allocation somewhere else. We had just purchased a 3500 HD from Sparta Chevrolet, so immediately Anna came to mind. She was awesome and I was hoping that we could buy our car from her! Well Sparta is known for trucks not Camaros... So I took a chance and I called and to my delight they already had one on order with no buyer...woohoo. We were able to change up the order to get the car I wanted! 2010 2SS/RS, IOM, Sunroof, Automatic...I couldn't wait! She came off the line on May 8th 2009 and was delivered a week later, 3 days before my birthday!
I knew right away that I wanted to two-tone my car. It took me a year to get it done...and it was terrible! Drips, bubbles and a stick on pin? wth! So time to search for a professional! Anna to the rescue again! Her dear friend, Artist Xtraordinair, does amazing air brush. I had been toying with the idea of flames for awhile. Well I contacted him and he referred me to Essex Customz, if I am getting flames why not fix the paint too? Flames turned into smoke and stick on pin turned into custom painted on pin that is amazing! So Black and Orange throw in some smoke...Smoke'nHot!
How did you come across ModernCamaro.com and what made you stick around?
My friends at BBOMG told me about moderncamaro.com We were looking for another forum that was fun and informational without all the drama. This was it! All of my good friends are here and I am able to find all of the Camaro information in one place. Everyone is so nice and welcoming!
How did the Camaro or Chevy in general change your life?
Ha! Well my family would say it made me obsessed! From car shows and events to spending hours cleaning my car. I call my car "DB" (Dirty B#*!) because she is ALWAYS dirty! I love my Camaro but I have also found a love for GM. We now own 6 Chevy products. By far my Camaro is my favorite vehicle to drive. My heart still goes pitter pat every time I get in the driver's seat.
I have a Camaro family that is amazing...we are so supportive of each other. I have never met such a wonderful group of people.
