More Camaro thoughts.........

Some of you know me - and know that I'm, among other things -- a frustrated writer........

............here comes another one!

..........sothereIwuz.........

..........sitting in the sunroom this morning with a cup of coffee -- looking out at the Camaro..........

..........and it's like he's sayin' -- "Come ON Dad! --I don't wanna just sit here in the driveway guarding you from Decepticons..............come on!!!.... let's go scare some ponies!!!" --

......well! FAR may it be for ME to ignore THAT kinda talk........

So I thought -- OK -- gotta go mail some letters --

and once that was done -- I thought I'd drive up Lakeshore Drive and look at the scenery -- (and scare some Mustangs...) -- and then I find myself up by Selfridge Airforce Base.............and then I'm on I-94 heading toward Port Huron -- crusing along realizing once again just how downright satisfying this new Camaro is......

Cool temps -- sun's out - blue sky -- turned on XM -- and Michael McDonald is singing "Sweet Freedom" -- (how appropriate) -- and you DEFINITELY want to order the Boston Accoustics Stereo --

.......got near St. Clair and called Sarge Marge -- figured she needed to go for a ride because:

1. -- she's put up with me and the Camaro saga since 2002

and

2. -- she's going thru a Divorce ....

(she took the buyout in the fall -- so I only talk to her now and then...)

So I picked her up and we drove up along Route29 -- very picturesque as you drive along the St. Clair River --

.......scared some more Mustangs.......

.....and Marge says "does anyone NOT look at this car???"

so......put another 170 miles on today -- (Important in that we need to accumulate 500,000 test miles on CTF vehicles in order to ship to commerce.....)

..........and it occurred to me:

I don't think it will ever get any better than this.

I know -- I know -- look forward..........

.........but there are so many people who waited so long for this car to come back -- and it's almost 'magical' to watch people as they see it for the first time ...be it in a parking lot -- in an autoshow -- or on the road.

I do believe there will be a 6th gen -- but the difference is that we'll probably go from producing the 5th gen right into the 6th gen. (let us pray!) -- and yes people will look forward to it.......

..........but the long wait has created an 'aura' about this car -- that and its muscular good looks......yes, I'm prejudiced -- but the car has such an intimidating expression as you look at it from the front.......

Oh well - just another silly father going on about his kids........

Thanks for listening........

.................and thanks for keepin' the faith!

it really is a dream for me to have ordered this car. When I was finally able to buy a new Camaro we didnt have one to buy. I bought a 2004 SS Silverado because it was the closest thing they had at the time to a performance car and then onto the 05 Goat same thing closer to being a Camaro, but still not quite right, now it will be set right in my eyes im getting my car. I cant wait Scott thanks for keeping up the posts for us. I just hope the wait is quicker than the 9 months they said it was. I figure I ordered when there were 14000 orders so well see. Sooner rather than later I hope

I am so pleased that we had someone as passionate about the Camaro and GM in general to help us keep the faith. Scott has been around the Camaro Show circuit and we all have come to respect him for his support of our hobby and passion. People like him are what General Motors is about, people that care about the car not so much about the money that thay make. We will survive this turmoil and Camaro will be leading the pack for Chevrolet. Thanks again Scott, as always it was a pleasure meeting you.

Selena,
How do you know your car is on the train? I can't find out anything about ours!!! My dealer has been checking, but the status in the computer hasn't changed. We can't find out any info.
