Yeah, torque converters do play a major role.
Usually, the higher the stall RPM, the higher the drivetrain loss through it.

|Mr.Wolf||yes they do, the TC is where most of the torque, and HP are lost seeing as it is a fluid coupling between the engine and transmission there is no physical contact between the engine and the tranny, just fluid turning it.|

There's alot of factors.....
which transmission, build of transmission (stock vs race), driveshaft material, rear-end type and material, etc etc etc
But typically you can figure 15% drivetrain loss for a manual and 20% drivetrain loss for an automatic.
Add maybe another 1% for a 12-bolt, or add 5-6% more for a 9-inch.

What is typical drivetrain HP loss?
Just trying to get an idea on my cars flywheel power.
98 Camaro Auto 4l60e with 12bolt.
What do you guys think?
