As sad as I hate to type this I'm sure with this New 5.0L a lot of people will go buy a NEW Mustang now.

I just hope dealers keep making there #'s and more.

I actually dont mind if Mustang sells more thats just more of them you see at every corner and the few of us that have a Camaro can say we have something not everyone and there grandma has.

Since when has power sold the mustang? In 1998 when the camaro had the ls1 and the 3800 v6 was neck and neck with the non-PI 4.6 it didnt matter in the least. Mustang out sold the camaro. I believe styling and price are what sells the car for the most part.

Heck...ever since 1993 the mustang GT has had nothing to offer against the z28 when it came to performance. But yet the mustang out sold the camaro year after year. The 3rd gen was slower yet but did better against the mustang when it came to sales. For the most part the average consumer did not like the styling of the 4th gen camaro...that is what I believe killed the camaro for the most part. Sure wasnt the performance.

Now I wouldnt be surprised if the 5.0 does good for a while but I think GM got it right this time. Camaro sales will be at least up to par with the mustang this time around for sure.

Might also have to do with the LS1 Camaro being a little more compromising. It gives up some comfort for performance which makes it less appealing to more people. The Mustang was easier to get in and out of. I am sure this helped sell more to older people that wanted something fun and not as serious.

Also I believe the Mustang was more appealing to parents because of it having less power and probley lower insurance of the two.

A lot of the online stang guys are waiting for the 5.0..and the HP wars are once again turning for Ford to thier side..with the track pack.

Heck the V6 track pack that Fords got comming down the pipe they said it will beat the V8 track pack stangs!!! If you beleive it??? I do!

The idea is Fords got a lot riding on this Mustang and a lot of buyers know whats comming down the pipe for them. I know as a former owner of a SN95..I still on some of those boards and I hear what almost mirrors the anticipation to the 5th gen..they want this 5.0 and are waiting for it..

will it beat Camaro?? Who knows..but it will be close.

take a look at the numbers..

Camaro Deliveries: 5,371

vs.

Mustang Deliveries: 4,747

Thats only 624 cars seperating the two..Im betting there is morethan 650 orders waiting for the new 5.0's out there...

I have a friend in Calgary, Alberta Canada and he tells me that they call a Mustang a Me-Too car.

"You have a Mustang? Me, too!"

BTW ... he's a 2007 'Stang owner.
