markgws6 I have the G-Tech Fanatic series meter and and I've used it a few times to make runs. It seems to be pretty accurate and I place it almost in the middle right next to the rear-view mirror. I've gotten 6.08 to like 6.2 seconds 0-60 times and most of those runs were slight up hill towards the end. The mods I had at the time was an SLP intake, K&N, & hypertech program and I was running regular. I would be curious to see how much a difference the 18s vs 20s make in 0-60. I also want to make more runs now that I have the cat back and headers.

I know this is off topic

but where did you buy your matrix and how much was it?
I found one on amazon for $137, but I was wondering if anyone has found it for cheaper.
Thanks

Congrats, you run better than the average SS driver. LOL.

I mean that seriously too.

mpiper Well, I figured out why the Matrix read so low.

They misjudge when you hit 60. The instructions say to mount it on the windshield as close to level and 100% dead center in the middle, as possible. When I ran my first tests, I mounted it the same way I saw others doing it in their pictures. I placed it on the Radio faceplate on the right side. I noticed a beeping sound before I hit 60, but didn't know what ti was, since the manual doesn't mention beeps.

Tonight I mounted it the same place and drive a little softer to 60. 6.22 seconds BEEPED and stopped timing at 57 MPH. I said softer, not slow. My eyes were on the speedometer and the Matrix, with the street (a deserted, arrow straight road)in periferal vision.) I tried it again with a full-out punch. It stopped at 5.88 at 55 MPH.

So I moved it to the windshield, dead center under the mirror. Tried again. 5.98 at 58 MPH. Last time, 5.99 at 59 MPH.

So.... Item 1, I can safely say I've got a 6 second car. I'm betting 6.0 to 6.1 is the real times. This is running 89 Octane, 3/4 tank, exterior temp of 64, trans in "S" no stall, just release break, stomp the Gas and hold on.

Item 2, The times on the monitors cannot be used for bragging rights. (duh, yeah I know. Just saying it out loud.)

But my personal point is that I've now proved to myself that my car, in daily driver trim with just a Roto-Fab Intake can hit o - 60 in 6 seconds. 91-93 Octane and 1/4 tank should hit 5.90. I'm now happy and satisfied it is running like it should be. Next up, a dyno then drag strip for a real timeslip. But that's a while away right now. Maybe next month.
