What are some good, inexpensive bolts ons for a new SS?

It all depends on how you use your car and what you want to get out of it? Oh, and how do you define inexpensive?

An intake and cat back package tend to be pretty automatic when people start modifying their cars. They will add a little power and make your car sound a hell of a lot better. A sway bar upgrade will transform the way your car handles and is pretty easy to install.

Probably the engine performance best-bang-for-your-buck mod would be a VMAX CNC Ported Throttle Body.
They're cheap, super easy to install, add a few horses and add a few torques which is cool, but the best part is the improved throttle response. It feels like a different animal
That combined with a nice cold air intake, and exhaust will make it perform great and sound great!
Then there's the whole suspension upgrade side..... :D

Take a look a twhat we have to offer. HP vs. $$ I really think our CAI will be one of the most "bang for your buck" options. Not only will you get 15 RWHP and bout the same in TRQ, but you will also have much better throttle response, better sound at WOT, improved fuel economy, and it looks GREAT under the hood!

Cold Air Inductions, Inc. intake systems benefits:

: Tig welded aluminum air box (high luster finish reflects radiant heat)

: Insulated air box (this adding another layer of thermal (convection) protection)

: Aluminum lid with stainless steel ¼ turn fasteners (fast filter removal)

: Viewing window for fast easy filter inspection.

: High Luster ceramic coated intake tube (coated inside and out, yet another layer of thermal protection)

: Smooth bore (88.9 mm) intake tube construction (this minimizes bends and restrictions within the system)

: 8” V-stack air filter with built in velocity stack (helps reduce turbulence for truer MAF reading)

: 8 layer air filter (maximizing filtration for prolonged engine life

: LIFETIME WARRANTY

We have sold thousands of intakes, have thousands of happy customers, and incorporate design features that make our system a true Cold Air Intake. We see great #’s on the Dyno as well as the track, and can keep our intake temps within 2 degrees of ambient air due to our design features.

Set some goals for your car. Have a vision of what you want it to be .. then you work towards that one step at a time... If your looking for more power or better handling or appearance....

The first steps on the power side of things are the cold air intake and throttle body porting and headers.. the factory exhaust flows decent enough.. then you have a cam and head work and intake work or a power adder

basic speel is this: The engine is an airpump.. more air in more air out more power made.. sometimes its just a matter of removing restrictions

suspension.. putting what you have down more efficiently will allow you to use more of the power you already have

Appearance is obvious...LOL but still if you want that special look you need to build it in steps as well.. wheels, tinting, lowering, highlights

Sounds good....build the engine, then, if more hp than you just got through building is wanted, add boost.

Lets see if we can't bring this thread back to life... Is there any validity to some of the small things like throttle body spacers, mass airflow sensors, etc. Some of those things that seem really cheap and read well on the website but sound almost to simple (like if it is this cheap and easy why isn't it factory installed). For my taste, I want to keep her a daily driver while keeping the maintenance costs down. Would like to start off small and squeeze everything out of her that I can before I start replacing internals or adding large pieces.
