Can someone explain to me the difference between rear wheel HP and flywheel// and I may be wrong on the wording. Rookie with the Camaro, just picked up mine in February, 2010 SS/RS 6 speed manual. Has the catback SLP exhaust, cold air intake, had her professionally tuned and dyno and the guy told me I am pushing 480HP RW and upper 5 hundreds Flywheel or something like that. That seems high with what I have done or no?

I can tell a difference. The jump seems a lot better and really throws me back in my seat which is nice. He says my next step would be to put headers on but I am going to wait a while. Steve

RWHP takes into account driveline losses. flywheel HP is at the back of the engine, thus no driveline losses.

That's a bit optimistic. Stock they are around 370 RWHP. Those mods would probably only get you 40 RWHP more. So you are probably looking at about 410 RWHP or so. I would believe 480 at the flywheel though.

Input the wrong vehicle weight, or other variables, and the HP readings will be off.

ok, thanks! yea, that is what I was thinking but I am the forever optimist. Maybe since he charged me so much he was trying to make me feel better about giving him so much cash. Runs good though so will have to see what she will do on the quarter mile in a few weeks.

thanks again!
