I am sure this has been covered before, but I can't find this link. If I have my VIN number, where can I see how rare the car is with the options installed. Is there a web site/lick that will tell me?

Check our search.. for the thread, otherwise.. you might have to ask on.....

I've heard there is not too much you can do past one item on newer cars ... if someone knows better, I'd love to hear it ... if you search "build numbers" you should be able to find details on 2010-2012 ... not sure if anyone ever posted anything on the 13s or 14s ... the best I could really do with mine, iirc, was there are only like 2800 of my color build, if think it was the rarest color that year

probably not but I would still love to know how many 2012 CRT SS/RSs there are ... seems like probably less than 1000, who knows in 30 years.

I found a database that would let me look up my 2010 Camaro SS by options/number sold. I drilled down my option list and found out just how unique my car is.

...but.... being a dummy, I didn't bookmark it, and now I can't find it.

This was back in late 2009. It USED to exist, so maybe it still does...somewhere.

It'd be extremely useful info to have. I'd pay to get that info again.

Most likely you are thinking of the Spastic Squirrel site but it has been non-op for a long long time. I did save a copy of my "drill downs" for my car tho!

Came up with the following for the 2010 MY:
Of the 102,126 made --
11403 SIM in the US total
4799 SIM w/2SS in US total
2841 SIM w/2SS & A6 in US total
1759 SIM w/2SS & A6 & Jet Black Interior in US total
455 SIM w/2SS & A6 & Jet Black Interior & Factory Installed Black Rally Stripes in US total
185 SIM w/2SS & A6 & Black Interior & Factory Installed Black Rally Stripes & NO Sunroof in US total
32 SIM w/2SS & BOTH TRANS & Black Interior & Factory Installed Black Stripes & NO Sunroof in CA total

SWEET! :D

I think so. I got down to one car for my combination when I ran it.

Couldn't disagree more. Cars are cars and someone always find a value in them no matter the make or model or what they are made out of....

You have to remember, that they get crashed, turned into race only cars or destroyed to the point of no repair so the numbers dwindle. This in and of itself is primarily what drives the price up on any given car.

NOW, how long it will be before the car is worth more than you paid for it, that's another story... and anyone who buys a car with the sole idea of it being a collectors item in their lifetime is a real gambler!

Some plastics take 10,000 years to biodegrade.

...but we digress.

We now return to our regularly scheduled topic.

good answer, enjoy the car now. I think if you really want to have a car that will appreciate in value buy a mid-90's z28 or SS or better yet a v8 firebird, with a M6.. remember they only made like 5,000 of those a year, they are much, much rarer and 20 years old now and most likely another firebird or Pontiac will never be made.

I found this site a while back, Not sure if this is what you're looking for or if this could help out anybody else. All I know is by what this site says my 14 with the blue accent trim interior there were only 1025 made with that interior package, wish it told me how many in exterior color white though cause that would drop that number down.

I don't think I had seen the 14 numbers yet ... but that list is similar to the content of previous years ... not a lot of help narrowing unless you have a Z28 or some ZL1s

I did notice the number of CRTs nearly doubled from 2012 though
