Weightloss

Any of you track guys trimming weight from these cars? If so, how are you doing it?

Been looking at moving to Camaro but the 4k weight has me worried.

are you willing to gut the car out? how much do you want to spend to drop weight? ceibon makes alot of carbon fiber part, doors, hood, fenders, mirrors, trunk. that can drop quite a bit of weight. replacing the stock exhaust alone drops around 10lbs. you could do lighter 2 piece rotors. lighter wheels. really just depends how much weight you wanan drop. carbon fiber driveshaft, aluminum flywheel.....the list goes on and on....

honestly, just add a set of drop springs and sway bars and the car at least doesn't feel big and heavy any more. that's easier then taking off enough weight to make a difference.

and come on....it's not 4,000 lbs.

close enough.... but yeah, it is much easier and cheaper to improve the handling to make the car a better track car, than it is to spend thousands reducing weight.
