Question Good dealer in Northern Virginia?

My wife and I just went to Pohanka Chevy in Chantilly, Va and they aren't letting anyone test drive their camaros and are charging way above sticker. Can anyone recommend a good dealer in Northern Va or even Maryland? We would at the very least want to test drive the camaro before ordering one.

Thanks,

Michael

I bought from Country Chevrolet in Warrenton Va. They are great to deal with, sold at MSRP and HAD a yellow one that people could drive at the time. They've had customers from Arlington, Chesapeake and Fredericksburg come up to buy from them to avoid the additional charges many northern va dealers are putting on. However, they sold it and now are trying to get another one that they would let people drive I'm not sure when that would happen. They will not let anyone drive any ordered and delivered cars but if they get a spare, I'm sure they would. I ordered May 2nd, and got it June 26th but I was lucky to be in their original allocation.

See my post in the "Dealers to Avoid" sticky. I spoke with them a LONG time ago and they fully admitted their plans to charge over MSRP. It's a free market, so good for them, but take your money elsewhere. They have an awesome service department, so don't let your sales experience sour you too much.

As for dealers, Criswell is supposedly NOT charging over MSRP. This was according to a salesman I spoke to back in December.

Koons, Ourisman and Jim McKay are marking up as far as I know. The problem is that in the DC area, dealers know that people have money and that if they want something, they will pay. It's unfortunate, but look at housing there - it's the same way. I do miss the area at times, though.

Thanks to both of you for the replies. I did read the "Dealers to Avoid" thread and another thing about Pohanka (as per what their sales guy told me yesterday) is that the Camaros on their lot were bought at auction which ties in to this thread here by Camaro Scotty: http://www.5thgen.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15060

I'm definitely not dealing with them. I'll give Country Chevrolet in Warrenton a call and I'll also call a few dealers a bit further out, like the ones in Sterling and Leesburg.

Thanks again,
Michael

Another good dealer is down in Fredericksburg, Radley Chevrolet. I have dealed with them on service, good on service. Then in July I ordered my Camaro 2SS. They have treated me good.
