i will be getting a v6 camaro 1lt and am thinking about putting a cai and flowmaster exhaust, would i benfit from this or should i leave it stock, some people have told me to leave stock because the parts in the car where made just for this car, if i go with the cai and flowmaster will the combo hurt my car? need info thank you.

IMO it won't hurt the car but help it perform better. The only way it will hurt is if you plan on not driving it and keeping it for a collector car.

It will add horsepower and torque so yes a little faster probably better gas mileage. As far as Flowmaster exhaust haven't heard it so not sure what it sound like but it gets great reviews...

It would be slightly faster than stock, and slightly louder.
Flowmaster usually has a pretty nice sound.

These are two fairly simple and pretty common modifications, it won't hurt the car to do them.

I have a pair of flow masters on my truck and they sounds great. Not sure what it would be like on the Camaro though.

Catback systems are legal in most areas, and also, shouldn't void the rest of the car warranty (but included in the warranty if you did an LPO exhaust). Besides, I haven't heard of very many exhaust warranty claims from behind the cats.

I tend to look at it as not adding HP/TQ. They're just letting some more of the pent-up HP/TQ out as it's already in there. Add a better flowing intake system, and you'll do the engine proud. Allowing the LS engines to breathe is very beneficial to performance. Just like a marathon runner, you would expect them to lose a bit of performance if they were constipated and then clip a clothespin on their nose to boot.

The only way you are going to hurt the car is if you internal mods like cam shafts and things with out a proper tune on the car. Cold air intakes and exhausts like the man above me said will just unlock the power already in the car. The GM exhaust manifolds are a joke get a set of heads and I've your lookin at about 30HP unlocked. That ain't bad for a few hundred bucks and an little time out of ya day.
