V6 Fuel Mileage?

Okay I searched for this and could not find anything so I'm posting a new thread. Has anyone else had bad fuel mileage on a brand new automatic V6 Camaro?

The manual does state that it can happen during break in but my fuel mileage gauge says I'm only getting bet. 11 and 15 MPG, far from the average 22 quoted on the window sticker. I drive city and hwy both and am pretty gentle since the car only has about 100 miles on it.
Maybe it's not as bad as the gauge says...Is that the average I can expect? What are others getting?

I don't know about the v6's but my v8 will get 17 around town and 24 on the hiway if I'm careful, so you should at least equal that. I only have 1200 miles on mine.

The more you drive the better it gets. I get 18-19 in city and as many as 31 on highway

With all of my mods, I get between 25-28 mpg. This is mostly highway with some stop and go stuff. I'm fairly ginger with the car though, so that may be the reason why.

You should be getting twice that milage. If it doesn't get better soon I would see your dealer.

Life is too short to drive an ugly car.
I bought mine from Camaro Scotty!

I respectfully disagree with that statement.

And to the OP...it's all about the way you drive your Camaro. I've got a lead foot and and a few engine mods and I average 14.8. This is all suburbia driving...but I look at every stop light as a starting line. I just don't care...I would rather have fun!

Here's a thread on mileage but it does include V8 responses too.

I've been on 20 mpg for mostly city driving and an average of 28mph on mine.
I do tend to not let the car get over 2000 RPM and shift it as much as possible.

I will also press the clutch and coast on the hills too.

There is only so much you can do with a 25mph speed limit, and 2 miles of 35mph. Thanks to the 45,000 students in the vicinity that is why they are set that low.

Now you see...that's the kind of information we need. Most people just post their mileage...some don't give any details...like V6 or V8...auto or manual...or real life driving conditions. I know some of the info is in sigs and avatars but sometimes not. And the driving conditions are what matter the most. I'm a race car driver wanna be...so I have low expectations.

So let's make this the tell the whole truth mileage thread...
