power steering leak

man... my baby doesn't even have 200 miles on her, and turns out the power steering pump was leaking.

took it in to get it replaced at the dealer, they're keeping her over night. anybody else have a similar issue.

I had 15k on my baby and had to get the oil pan gasket replaced. I'm thinking that the issue was because it was to cold over the winter, I stored her my garage and it gets real cold in there. So I hope next winter will be better.

One of the many reasons why I love my car's electric power steering~

a little update,

so monday morning 8am i drop my LS off at courtesy chevrolet (mission valley), and they give me a malibu rental and send me home telling me they need to wait for the parts to show up tuesday morning.

tech calls me tuesday at noon tells me that parts just got in and the car should be ready for pickup before closing time (5pm.) I call at 4 and he said they're running late and they SHOULD have it done wednesday.

i call today in the morning. again... no definite answer as to when they'll have my car ready. at this point it's really hard to keep my cool when the dude who has been helping me since day one sounds like doesn't give one f*** about anything. but i say, "well give me a call when you'll have definite answer". he calls again about an hour ago and says, "ok sir, tomorrow morning we'll definitely have your car ready". to which i then reply, "ok buddy, i've replaced a power steering pump with a socket wrench, a screwdriver and a rag on a european turbocharged car in 3 hours, so you know how little space i had to work with, and you're telling me it takes you 2-8 hour days to swap out a pump in a car that i can fit my entire leg into?" (i'm never one to go off on anybody, but this guy's tone was way too annoying).

he apologized, i then kinda apologized for going off on the guy, and said i'd call back tomorrow morning.

the thing that bothers me the most is that the same dude i dealt with was the guy who told me to "make sure to give them a positive response, on the GM survey" they mail me. which, i still haven't received in the mail after my car purchase.

What should I do if my car isn't ready after the 3rd day? Anybody go through something like this?

I have received a couple of those surveys..after buying the car and after getting warranty work. I never answered them. I can't in good faith give them a 10 on everything..and I'm not enough of a dick to give anything lower (they get royally chewed out and can get fired for anything below a 10).

If it takes too long ask for a rental.

update: they just gave me my car back yesterday at 2pm. 4 DAYS LATER. I went to go pick it up, the guy had the nerve to say "i know i've drilled you about it before, but when you get the GM survey, can you please give us a good review?"

wow...

i told him that if he hooked it up with a hurst shifter, i'll think about it. to which he replied, "haha you're good, i'll call you back and see if i can work something out with the boss"

hopefully the guy can get me a discount on a hurst shifter
