v6 exhaust issues

hey everyone, i have a problem hope someone can help. I put Flowmaster american thunder axle back mufflers on my ride and it sounded and ran great. My buddy has the same car and had his resonators removed and said i should do the same. His car was a little louder but he has borla exhaust. so went to mineke had the resonators deleted and wow sounded good at cold start. Heres the problem: when the car is cold and you take the rpm's over 2500 it sounds like a honda with a "big pipe". when it warms up sounds fine. Any thoughts?

my thoughts....sometimes it's good to leave it alone.

looks like your options at this point is to put your resonators back on or get a borla exhaust if you like the way that sounds.

There are a few V6 ehaust that have the rice sound...noticed that with the MBRP too..

Look at the MRT Camaro v6 exhaust clips on you tube...maybe the SLP Loudmouth II.

GM spent a LOT of time and money to get the Camaro to sound good at all RPMs and load conditions. There was a big writeup on it somewhere. I doubt aftermarket is going to sound as good under all conditions.

Drone is also a huge problem with aftermarket exhaust work.

I have the solo mach cat back system on my Vert since May and had it on my coupe since July 2010. I have to say this is the best sounding V6 exhaust you will fine. Great sound without the drone. It also gets rid of those big OEM trash cans.

Just waiting for a good price. Missed the mark last week could have got it for 350 w/free shipping but did not notice the price until it was too late. Will keep on looking. Also want the real X pipe put in at the same time...

Just rode in a friends 10 challenger/SRT and he has the Solo exhaust just installed, we took a ride and while just driving is as quite as a church we he got on it boy you could really hear the diffrence.

So with your install on the v6 did you keep the J pipe or remove it. I see their price is now 900 but is it worth it....

after about two years with the SLP LM1 mufler delete my v6, honestly the car sounds better than ever!....when it was first put on it sounded good but not fully satisfying due to the almost import-like raspiness. 25,000 miles later it sounds deep and full....lovin every minute of it
