I've heard of this before and it turned out to be nothing wrong, just fluids on hot parts burning off from manufacture process. If it continues for another few days I would have it checked out. IMO

I've had this happen on several of my new cars. It's nothing to worry about.

Get some miles on it and all the start-up smells will go away.

If you have a manual transmission, you could be slipping the clutch when you park. It smells like burnt oil.

Appreciate all of the responses. Should put some miles if our plans become reality when we visit a few casinos at Laughlin, and possiblity Las Vegas.

By the way it has an automatic transmission.

My 2011 did this when it was brand new till about 1700 miles or so. Been told it was manufacturing agents or something and the dealer said they will do that from parts getting hot on the engine but my smell came from the rear of the car and I think it was from the exhaust. The burnt smell goes away eventually. But take it easy anyway since you are still breaking it in.
