Prevailing thought on this board seems to be longtubes. Almost nobody on the board felt the $$ spent on "shorty" headers was woth the expense.

As for install information and times, try the search button for more details.

For brands..I heard American Racing has some, if not the, best. From the dyno numbers I've seen on here....they seem to have an almost unreal increase in power.

LT's are gonna make more power. Shorties are good if you want to keep the noise down and don't want to have to get tuned to keep the "check engine light" off.

American Racing and Kooks seem to be the choice for LT's. Doug Thorley seems to make nice Shorties.

Installation is pretty easy in the cars actually. plugs, wires, dipstick and the steering shaft (1 bolt) are the only things that need to come out. Can be done in your driveway if you know how to turn a wrench.

LONG TUBE is the only way to go. We use American Racing 304 stainless Installs very easy compared to the 4th gen. Install time is not bad, no longer than a day and if you know what you are doing just a few hours.

Dynatech headers with high-flo cats in several fit configurations.

I've got the stainless 1 7/8" into 3" collector, then high-flow cats into OEM exhaust. $1300 Got mine at Autoanything.com @ $1195, then a zippy tune.

Dragstrip calculations show a solid 50hp gain.

They are quiet cruising, then start talking when you get into it.

Not disappointed.

If your dead set on paying your dealership to install the parts, just buy it and tell them to install it. Most dealerships will warranty any work they do and the parts if you purchase it from them. Simply put, they'll just tack on a 50-100% premium on the parts for warranty.

+1 Best, reasonably priced headers on the market, perfect fit, easy installation. Can't lose. Matched with MBRP exhaust and you're good.
