L99 help.

Hey All

This is my first post on this Forum and it looks very informative. I have ordered the 2SS/RS with the L99 (automatic tranny) and was wondering about modifications. For instance, is an aftermarket exhaust system (i.e. Borla) specific to either the L99 or the LS3? Or an intake?

I know that the L99 has the unique AFM (active fuel management). I plan to do many aftermarket modifications to the engine so I want to be sure that I am getting parts specific to the L99 version.

Any input would be greaty appreciated. And ideas for companies/parts for modifications as well! Thanks in advanced.

To my knowledge, grifballs, the two V8s fit the same intakes & exhausts.

EDIT: And welcome to the forum!

Headers and exhaust will be plentiful from several vendors. There are supercharger systems being readied for sale and I'm sure Turbo systems being developed.

There really aren't many limitations to the L99 other than the AFM. Owners of Pontiac G8s have been working with the similar L76 engine and have found plenty of performance gains and have even removed the AFM.

You will be able to make your Camaro as fast as your wallet will afford.
