Aftermarket exhaust

Looking at an upgraded exhaust for when she finally gets here.

Thinking GM Performance would be the best as far as keeping the warranty alive. Still haven't heard what the GM Perfromance sounds like.

SLP and Corsa sound pretty mean!

Thoughts...

Are you even sure changing the exhaust would effect the warranty? I know it is different but I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier LS Sport with custom exhaust and I have used the warranty at two different dealers with no issue.

Borla cat-backs are awesome. Best price I have seen is here:

A cat-back is not going to void your warranty.

I like the sound of MBRP and Borla the best so far.

If I'm not mistaken, GMPP uses Borla and or Corsa, they just have the GMPP stamped into the muffler. The Corsa part number is exactly the same as I ordered from Intense Racing.

Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, your warranty cannot be voided by simply installing aftermarket parts unless:

1) the warranty documents specifically state that you can't make that particular mod.

2) the aftermarket part caused the problem you are trying to claim warranty on. For example, you install an aftermarket exhaust and now have an exhaust leak.

The guys are right, 90% of dealers have no issue with aftermarket parts as long as they are installed correctly...also, the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act is there if ever needed as well.

When you get close to an exhaust purchase let me know and I'll get you a quote of one of our systems shipped to your doorstep. Any kind of info that you are looking for (dyno info, pics, video's) let me know.

Thanks.

i saw a camaro at my dealer yesterday that already had the gm performance exhaust on it. somebody ordered the car but couldnt get the financing. i noticed it right away that the big bobo mufflers were missing. it looked real nice but they wouldnt let me hear it because the car was inside the showroom. kinda lame since somebody had to drive it into the showroom anyway. oh well. if i get it, it will be after i pick the car up. got to keep the cost as low as possible b4 pickup day but once i drive off with it.... muhuhahaha

Thanks for the input.

I spoke with GMPP Tech assist and they "would" not tell me who manufactures their exhaust upgrade. So, screw em. Plus, on another thread somebody was saying that the sound wasn't much different than the standard. Long story short, I will not be getting a GMPP exhaust!

My dealer wanted $1200 installed just for the GMPP axle-back exhaust. I'm getting the whole Borla Catback exhaust system installed this Saturday for $1500. It sounds awesome. Like a Camaro should!!
