steering shaft.

OK, I have a 2010 camaro-ss- v8 , i installed long tube headers on my car with a x exhaust. I had to remove steering shaft to get long tubes in. Now i had trouble putting the steering shaft, back in, and I was turning the wheel back and forth to align up steering shaft.. Problem now is When i turn on my engine every thing is good until i turn the wheel to the right then the ABS light stability track, traction control lights all come on and when i turn the wheel back they all go off but the ABS light stays on. And the airbag light keeps going on and off. How do I fix this problem? Desperate camaro lover!

Garage
Sounds like you need to take it back apart and see which wires you are pulling on when you turn the wheel... did the wheel spin around when you took off the shaft..?? if so that could be your culprit too.. lots of possibilities.

On cars with airbags, the steering wheel or steering rack cannot be moved while the intermediate shaft is out of the car. Sounds like this is what happened in your case. Hopefully you can re-center it and there was no damage. The stability control also has a sensor to measure steering angle to help with when the car is in a slide.
LOL the computer is thinking you have the steering turned while you are going straight! Hence the lights you are seeing.
But, the SIR light almost certainly means the clockspring is busted from over rotation. Let us know how it goes.
Here are some instructions to help you re-center.
