321 is pretty heavy duty stuff as far as temperature limits. Even better than 304 and a lot better than the 409.

about the band clamps, i think they have a hard time compressing 304 stainless as well. i battled leaks at several connections and even sheared an exhaust clamp bolt when messing with them. it took A LOT of adjusting and elbow grease but i managed to stop all the leaks with the original clamps that came with my American Racing header system.

You are correct, it is very heavy hence the need for the band clamps.
We stripped the threads on the included clamp bolts.
BillySpeed opted to use the band clamps I pictured in the write up.
The other option would be to just replace the included clamp bolts with grade 8 bolts.
So either method will work.

I have a Bagger with a 131" H&L engine backed by a Baker 6 speed.
