K&N replacement filter...horsepower???

Is it worth getting the K&N replacement filter for my 2012 ss? I know i should get the whole intake system but that will be later on down the road but for now is it worth it? for the future, which is the best intake system to get?

K&N Filters are great. I have run them in many vehicles over the years and yes it does help you engine breath better. You wont tell a whole lot of difference in horsepower but defintely better throttle response.

i've got an '09 tahoe that i'm cleaning K&N air filter on right now (lengthy process). They seem to get dirty alot sooner that others. since we bought the camaro, the tahoe has been out of the garage and we live in west texas with dust storms and farms. My gas mileage on my tahoe has gone down 3mpg since we've moved it outside. i also put slightly bigger tire on it to so that could be it also. i'll start be cleaning the filter. sorry to go off subject.

Bigger tires throw off the gauges unless you have them recalibrated.
My old S-10 that I got used came with p225's when it was supposed to have p205's. It threw everything off big time.

Halltech makes the best air intake they have a plastic tube that keeps air temps down and an inverted tip filter that lets in more air.

Cold Air Inductions and ADM would be the only other 2 I would recommend. Some after air intakes will actually cause you to lose HP so be careful

No prob. I went from 13mpg to 19 after putting the right size tires on.

But watch out..larger tires also throw off the speedometer and the odometer.
