ok, search engine hasnt been kind to me. has anyone set up a shift light without a tach adapter .......or with one if the magic wires were never found? any help would be appreciated, i have the auto meter shift light and already purchased the tach adapter but wasnt sure if there had been any revelation about installing one without it:dunno:
I think the tach adapter is going to be your best route; MSD Tach Pickup. Besides there is no cutting or splicing and should hook to any of the coil trigger wires. Cutting and splicing could cause a voltage drop at the coil causing more problems.
Have you seen the Raptor dual mode light? It is all self contained and can be fully programmed. The dual mode lets you set a launch rpm, then as soon as it senses vehicle speed it switches to shift mode.
