Flowmaster 40 series, disappointed

I went to a muffler shop and had 40 series Flowmaster mufflers installed and they cut my resonator and basically got a cat-back system. after driving a couple weeks with it, i dont like the sound i get from the mufflers.. it sounds more like a truck than a muscle car and when i get above 2000 RPM's then it produces a more air sound than a deep muscle tone.

Can you guys provide other muffler options that keep a good smooth tone and give the car a good sound and not sound like a big 4x4 truck. im wanting to just cut out the flowmasters and weld in a new muffler. Also i dont have an X-Pipe in the set-up yet.

Garage
I would recommend the Magnaflow Competition Series. I am running their 3" Comp catback with X-pipe and LOVE it. You can get the Comp mufflers separately tho most exhaust shops only like to carry the Street Series....

It is a nice deep rumble. Even with the comp series most guys say it's too quiet tho.

Exhaust tone is very personal thing and you have to be willing to gamble then do what you are now doing in getting rid of something to try something else....

Only car flowmasters sound good on is a Mustang. Keep the cats, get rid the resonator and ditch the mufflers add the x pipe.

I also disagree, I've got flowmasters on my truck and the cat-back kit on my Camaro love the sound of both. And I agree with Bucky, nothing sounds better on an old school muscle car.

I thought this site was about ALL Camaro's?!?!?! But then again, I could be wrong. Not to mention, you stated that the only car they sounded good on was Mustangs....??
