Varaam , New Era intakes, V.S. box and tube intakes

I really like the idea behind Varaam and New Era's intakes and i am thinking seriously about getting one especially. being a forced induction into the throttle body but no one seems to talk about them much in terms of PROS and CONS about intakes like these compared to intakes with an air box and long tube into the throttle body.

So that is my question to you is what is the PROS and CONS of a varaam style intake ??
