V-Max Motorsports...!!

So I decided against waiting for BBK to put an aftermarket throttle body out there. I am going with a p&p unit. I talked to the guy (I think his name is Pete) from V-Max today and I have to say that he is a very friendly and professional gentleman. He told me that he had some units that will be ready to ship out this Wednesday and proceeded to instruct me on how to send mine in and everything else involved. We even had a small chat. I honestly felt like I was his only customer...that's how polite he was. He even said he would put one aside for me while mine is on it's way. Needless to say I went straight to UPS and mine is on its way as I type this. Hopefully I'll have the p&p one sometime next week. I cannot wait. I will give some feedback on the upgrade as soon as I get it and install it!! Stay tuned!!

Pete over at V-max Motorsports is a stand up guy that builds some awesome products. He will get you set up with the right and he will make sure you get taken care of. Pete has done a bunch of heads and designed a bucnh of camshafts for me over the years.

Yea he's a real cool guy. He told me he ports the stock LS3 intake manifold also and it's good for about 15 RWHP. I kinda wish he didn't tell me that because now I'm gonna have to get one as my next mod!!

I just got the V-Max delivered today!! About to go install it right now. I'll post the results after a test drive...stay tuned!!

Ok, installed it in all of about 20 minutes taking my time. It came out nice and neat. And you can see the difference in the port work vs the stock unit. I took it out on the road and the throttle response is better and the car pulls better. I'd say it was about the same gain as a CAI or tune or the pulley. Not a monster gain but definitely enough to make it worthwhile. Next stop...headers and dyno tune!!

It was $150 plus the cost of shipping the core and the shipping for the V-Max. And I wanted to keep the original TB that came on the car unmolested so I bought a stock core from EBay for about $109 shipped. So you figure total cost for me was about $300.
