Chasing that sound... My exhaust saga.

Finally got around to adding some high flow catted mid-pipes to my Car... Back when I first got it I watched video after video of exhaust, and finally settled on the Dynomax #39494 axle back... I thought it sounded amazing (in the video)... Upon getting it and installing it I was a little disappointed... It had the sound I wanted, but it wasn't as loud as it was in the Dynomax promotional/installation video... The original Dynomax install video:

I was disappointed in the volume, so I decided I would make an X pipe/resonator delete... I did that, but I did not notice much, if any increase in volume, or sound... I was disappointed yet again... That video is here if you want to watch it, but its pretty much exactly the same as the first one:

(Yes, I know Launch is spelled wrong)

Still I needed more, and I did not want to install headers... So HFC's were the next logical step before replacing the Axle Back with something else, or going to a Cat back...

Fast forward to today... This has been in the making for the past 2-3 weeks waiting for everything to arrive... The car came apart Friday, ran round making stuff, testing stuff, etc... Finished up the HFC's today, and I must say, I'm think I'm fairly happy with the sound! I do notice it has a slight rasp now, but it's not unbearable... Perhaps the resonators would have cured this... Or perhaps it's time for some different mufflers... This is the first prototype set of in house HFC's, and I do not plan to have it go public until I know the check engine light will stay off... As of yet, NO check engine light. Video:

And now the road testing and racking up the miles begins... Thoughts?

Sounds good to me! Enjoy the testing!

I found $80 in my jeans pocket. The kid in me said "buy nerf guns and candy!" But then the adult in me said "buy vodka, nerf guns and candy!"
