GMPP ASA Cam

Anybody have the ASA Cam in their car? How is it on Brake vacume , did you have to machine pistons for valve clearance. Are you happy with it? Or Howards Cams version?

I guess no one has the GMPP or Howards ASA cam. Well I decided to find out for myself. I went with the Howards Cams ASA street cam. It has the same stats as the ASA race cam except for Lobe Sep Angle 113 street 110 race. I also went with Howards LS3 roller rockers and a ATI super damper. Kooks LT headers with HF cats the rest is factory dual mode exhaust with the fuse pulled. 3.91 1LE ring&pinion. JBA low res. plug wires. Airaid cold air intake. Very good drivability runs strong and sounds mean as hell. Dyno tune by Smokeys performance Akron Ohio. Back wheel numbers 460 HP--419 TQ. Calculate a 11% drivetrain loss that's 516 HP and 471 TQ at the crank. I am real Happy with my results.

Most people it seems these days go with a custom cam instead of an off the shelf cam. But either way, you can get great results. Your numbers look great! Do you have a dyno graph? What are the cam specs?

I have a graph and if I can figure out how to load it I will. The Cam Is a Howards Cam's ASA street cam model 197715-13 Specs are 525 lift in & out 226 1ntake and 236 exhaust with 113 LSA. Runs good sounds good and is still very street drivable. Of course the other stuff I added to the car helped alot. Having a big enough gear is a must for camed motors. See what I can do about that graph.
