from the article:
This 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z is said to be one of 34 5-speed 1LE performance package equipped cars and shows just 123 claimed accurate miles on the odometer. Designed for SCCA Showroom Stock racing, the ILE offered upgraded brakes, suspension and other pieces included when a carefully selected mix of add-ons and delete options triggered fitment of the rare package on the assembly line. Many were bought and mothballed with hopes for a future, COPO-like rise in value, but this is the lowest mileage example we’ve seen yet. car is for sale on eBay in suburban Chicago, Illinois with no reserve.

Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z 1LE | eBay current bid $31200 with 30 bid for those of you interested in looking ... sounds like a good investment (meaning for the seller)though I suspect other investments would have done better and I would have hated it sitting inmy garage without driving it

Gotta love those IROC's - I owned several but I would never spend that much money on one and yet be afraid to drive it!

Unfortunately, a new SS won't ever hold it's value like that IROC-Z did. For starters, the 1LE makes it extremely rare. And it's hard enough to try and find a 5-Speed IROC-Z. Most people will argue that they never made them......

If I had the funds available, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Oh no doubt ,,, and if I had the funds I might have tried too ... that said, if its so rare, why only 40K when many cars on the TV auctions are going close to 6 figures for so much less.

Yeah ... I couldn't imagine that sitting in my garage (probably not literally in this case) for 25 years ... that would be torture
