I was just wondering, so far just about every car that comes out with it is always outdone within a couple of years. Take the first LS1 Z28's. They were good but the 01's recieved the LS6 intake and from what I heard the 98-99 blocks had some issues with them. The first GTO was OK but the LS1 needed help in such a large car then low and behold the LS2. The first Z06 was quickly outdone in the following years not even mentioning the Newest Z06. I want the car as soon as it hits, but can't help wondering if I waited a year after will anything be different and/or better, because I don't want to keep trading it in year after year to just to keep up:eek: .

I would not hesitate at all to buy the first year Camaro.
They're taking the extra time to get it right from day one.

That said, it has already been announced that the Convertible won't be available until the second model year, and it's a possibility that the top-level car wouldn't make an appearance until then as well. But we won't know for sure for another year probably.

If you wait long enough, there will always be something bigger, better or faster... but think about it this way... how much faster & cooler will the next Camaro be than whats on the road now? If you want to be one of the first ones on the block with one, you should get one, but be prepared for a dealer mark up.

My guess is that the 1st year will be pretty spot on with options. No, the top engine may not be available, but if it is priced anywhere near what the GT 500 is priced for, would you be able to afford it anyway?

Just $.02 worth.

Na I'll get the first year just to get it. And when the new one comes out I'll give it to the wife and get me the top gun I guess (for however brief it will be), and just mod it a "bit".;)

My wife converted when she saw it not only from truck to car but from ford to Chevy! She said she wanted a new mustang when her truck gets paid off, after seeing that she is the one who suggested buying 2 So I'm not going to argue.

The only good thing about having to wait untill late 09 is her truck will be paid off then. Which will free me up to get another one!! And since mine will be paid off next month I got some years to save/play with my current car until I pick up another payment.

Yeah I hear ya.

My school loans, (I'm 31, not a kid, just got a late start) and truck should be aid off by then and that will give me about $650 to spend a month and hopefully I will have at least another promotion and raise by then....

I looked into getting a $40,000 loan @ 7% interest and the paymnet is like $800 if I remember correctly.

I am saving right now, but I am also in the middle of a HUGE Restoration/Build of a Suburban that was my Grandfather's, then my dad's and now has been mine for about 3 years.

I really don't want to put the Burb on the back burner, because the progress ahd been slow the last 6 months up until Christmas, but I have made huge progress since Christmas. I still have a ton of work to do to finish the convertible top on the Burb, but I have 80% of the suspension parts waiting for me to Box and POR-15 the frame.

Holy Soap Box Batman, I'm rambling.

I'm done.

I'm buying a Camaro, if I have to sell my wife.

haha sell the wife... if my wife wanted a m_st_ng she would be pushing toward divorce hahaha. luckily i never had that problem, she is ;) well trained :D we walk around with matching Chevy Racing jackets on. we named our baby boy Chevy last month, the other 4 kids swear if a m_st_ng ever parks in the driveway, it will leave with no lugnuts and missing spark plugs hahahaha

I just hope they keep the same overall look. Take it and put it next to an older Fbody (hot wheels or whatever versions you have). Even though the size difference is minute the new Camaro just looks smaller. I noticed that while building the model and placing it near the 69 and 02 models that I have. It looks alot smaller than it really is which I love about it. So as long as they keep that same basic profile I'll be straight.
