2009 Pontiac G8 GXP. Tipping the scales with a healthy 400+ horses from a 6.2L LS3 V8, the GXP is likely to be the sprinter of the family, turning in 0-to-60 times of about 4.7 seconds.
It will also sport an optional six-speed manual transmission and feature a sportier front and rear fascia, although the family resemblance is unmistakable.

2010 Pontiac G8 sport truck, you’d expect that it demands a lot of attention. Part sports car, part pick-up and all attitude, the sport truck really will create an all new segment for the marketplace.
It’ll have the same 6.0L V8 powerplant as its G8 GT cousin and still will run 0-to-60 times of under 5.5 seconds. Plus, it’s got a six-foot, soft tonneau covered bed and 3,500 lb towing capacity. In short, this little baby can “haul” in every sense of the word.
But, the one thing it doesn’t have is its own name. “G8 sport truck” is just a description and we need you to help us name this baby. Starting on March 15, you’ll have the ability to submit your suggestions at www.pontiac.com/namethiscar. The winning name will be announced on April 15. And, by submitting an entry, you also get a chance to win one for yourself.

The G8 GXP will be on the streets late this year while the G8 sport truck will follow in Fall 2009.
And our brand fertility is not yet complete.... You’ll want to check back at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18 for yet another announcement from the delivery room.
Well, there's your confirmation of the G8 GXP getting the LS3.
This bodes very well for Camaro.
I have to wonder.... what's the next announcement on the 18th?
It's apparently another version of the G8.... perhaps... A COUPE!???!?
