Wow. It's amazing. It seems like just last year, It was a concept.

Oh, wait....

I also got a full shot of it without the GM business suit models:

http://gm-volt.com/2008/09/04/offic...-be-revealed-at-the-gm-centennial-this-month/

GM sources who remain unidentified have told reporters at Automotive News Europe that the production Chevy Volt will be revealed at GM’s Centennial Celebration taking place on September 15th and 16th at GM headquarters in Detroit.

The article states “the rumors that a production version of the Volt will show up at the celebrations are true.”

We have been speculating this for awhile knowing that GM would do the reveal at an event getting a lot of press attention. We also had heard the production Volt was scheduled to appear at the Paris Auto Show in October, and would of course be very surprised if GM would actually show it for the first time overseas. The Centennial reveal makes the most sense.

Indeed GM vice chairman Bob Lutz recently told reporters “a production model will be showing this fall, but not at Paris”

Furthermore GM is planning a worldwide webcast at 830 AM on the 16th, so that might just be the ideal moment.

As to whether yours truly will be there in the flesh…we’ll have to wait and see.

I'm sure they had to make it more aerodynamic.
I'm sure you are right but it just looks like a Toyota Corolla with a Chevy front facia grafted onto it. Actually more like a 4 door Honda Civic.

That's why that was a concept and this is the production model.

Even the Camaro Dimensions changed from the Concept. It's probably not noticeable, but it changed significantly.

Plus, the Concept Volt wasn't as aerodynamic as it could be...

If it does the 40-60 miles on a charge like originally claimed the Volt is going to sell very well in the package posted above. It looks good to me.

One thing I liked about the concept was the low slung and wide look of it. Yes everyone knows you have to make changes from concept to production but the 5th gen Camaro has got to be one of the closest to concept executions I have seen GM do on a niche vehicle.

With regard to what the Volt is supposed to be (energy efficient), it will be a great vehicle but it looks like every other econo-box out there as far as styling is concerned. I would have been happy pulling up to a fancy restaurant in the concept car because it had a sporty-classy look about it. This one will just be another commuter car.
