So here is where we stand... should I push them? If so how and in what direction?

Perhaps request when the run started and how many were produced a day...

Or is there a build sheet hidden in the car somewhere like I know they are there BUT will they give me any further info?

Dear Fred,

I did contact our internal resource about your production sequence and date questions and was able to get some information. I did verify that your Camaro was built on 5/9/2012 but when it comes to the specific build number out of 628, GM has only just uploaded 2011 model facts and will most likely discontinue the practice of sequencing limited models for future vehicles and will just have production totals. Due to how fast the vehicles are produced and the various locations, it is getting more difficult to determine the specific number of which one comes off the line first. I do apologize that this information wasn't what you had hoped but your vehicle is still one of a select few.

If you wish to contact me, I can be reached by responding to this email or via phone at 1-866-790-5700, extension 40820. Please reference your case number 71-1194491597.

For other inquiries and concerns, you may also contact Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 1-866-790-5600 and request for immediate assistance. Customer Relationship Specialists are available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

Thank you.

You can try to push but even with some "connections" I was unable to obtain this info or even just the number of vehicles that were produced in my particular trim level... Both sources stated the lack of such record keeping post bailout...

So here is what I just sent them;

Hello again,

I am a member of an online forum that specializes in the 45th anniversary camaro and there is more than just me requesting this info.

One member says that if we can get the list of serialized VIN number's of the production run we can narrow down the date and build number of each one.

Would it be possible to get a print out of the vin's?

If not, perhaps you can see the date the first vin was produced and the date the last vin was produced and that would get us that much closer to narrowing down a production number. And what the first and last vin number is then we can deduce from there where our individual vin numbers fall...

There has to be a sequential order?

Thank you in advance,

Thanx that link will help a bunch

What I need is a VIN from a convertible 45th anniversary edition v6 automatic which is what I have ... that way I have my build date and if I can see another we can get pretty close to the number as only 628 were produced...

Thank you again

Dear Fred,

I did look into your request and I am sorry to report that a VIN list is not available and that more thorough special edition information typically becomes accessible the following model year. However in this case, there is no firm date of when further details will be distributed. I do apologize about the situation but I have this documented and if you want to check in at a later time, you are more than welcome to do that.

If you wish to contact me, I can be reached by responding to this email or via phone at 1-866-790-5700, extension 40820. Please reference your case number 71-1194491597.

HHHHHMMMM

VIN'S
2G1FC3D39C9204001
2G1FC3D32C9131165
2G1FC3D38C9100051

SO THE LAST 6 NUMBERS ARE THE SEQUENCE

SO IF 628 CARS WERE BUILT and here are 3 vin numbers I guess it would be safe to assume 1000051 was built first

I am trying to get chevy to send me the build date on the 2 new vins

vin 204001 was built may 9th 2012

Dang I luv a challenge LOL

Dear Fred,

For the VINs that you gave me, I was able to get the build dates of each:

2G1FC3D32C9131165 - 10/4/2011
2G1FC3D38C9100051 - 6/13/2011

Although when it comes to the production date of the first vehicle of this edition, I was unable to find that information. It possibly could be released at a later date along with the other details that you are requesting. I was only able to find the start-up date of Camaros generally which was 7/18/2011. But as you can see that contradicts the build date of one of the VINs that you gave me so that leads me to believe that there should me more precise facts in the future.

If you wish to contact me, I can be reached by responding to this email or via phone at 1-866-790-5700, extension 40820. Please reference your case number 71-1194491597.

What I am not sure of is this, is the 45th Anniversary edition in the VIN itself? Or would one have to go through and look up all Vin's of the cars produced to get that code?

By the way, did you know you could just pop the hood and look down to the passenger frame and see the vin sticker with the build date at Martinrea? It is usually 1 day before GM says it was built.
