Ok, assuming RS is available on the 5th Gen...
(I dunno if it is or not, just playing what if here)

What should RS be?

RS = its own model?
RS = appearance package?
RS = performance package?
RS = performance & appearance package?

And if it should be a package, should it be available on all models, or just certain models?

FWIW, looking at Camaro history....
RS was always an appearance package, with the exception of 1989-1992 when it was the base model (but yet just an appearance upgrade from what WAS the base model), and 2001-2001 when it was an SLP package that included Z28 exhaust.

I like to see the RS option available as the top V6 with the optional upgrade to a base V8 (L76?), thats also an appearance option, but everything but the z/28. I like to see the the front bumper ram air, RS wheels, RS badging and ground effects.

RS= top v6 with appearance package
RS= L76 with appearance package
SS/RS= L76/LS3 with SS (drag option) with appearance package

The reason I say no z/28 with RS is because:

-I like to see ram air on the hood for the z28, and ram air on the front bumper for the RS. So, with that said, it would be ghey to have 2 ram air vent area and wouldnt make any sense. Im sure ricers would have a field day on that, lol. I would hate to have to ask which one is the functional one to them.
-I think a z/28 should have its own look and package (handling package), like a WS6 was. The SS, I think, should have cowl-like hood (with no ram air on regular SS); upgraded wheels standard. With that in mind, a RS would be an appearance "add-on" package with badges.

I guess all that is a little confusing, but its hard to explain my idea without explaining my idea I like to see on all models.

Yes the RS should be a all show model. Fully optioned except for any of the Z28/SS performance. The L76 would work as long as they do the same as the Z06 has always done, being no RS could out do a Z28/ top model off the assembly line. I thought the rally sport was always mostly a show model. Maybe there was one or two years that it was a rocket? Can't remember but I did see(don't know if it was a clone) a 68 or 69 once that was a SS/RS and was bad a**!!!! The guy really ran it till we hit the triple digit speeds, then he backed off.
How much longer till we know about the Z28/SS???? Hopefully good things come to those who wait?

I voted Appearance package on All models.

While I would like to see combo packages like we had with RS/SS/Z28 in the past, It wouldn't suprise me if they didn't do that. Less combinations means lower costs to build.

That said, I'd love a nicely equipped V8 RS car with hideaway headlamps please :D

I voted appearance on some cause I don't think the base v-6 should have the option. Plus that could keep the entry model cheaper?? I think that they should have the RS but maybe offer it on the top v-6 and entry v-8. Just my opinion.

:BangHead:I voted performance package on all models but meant to vote appearance package on every model. :BangHead: I think we should be able to build our Camaro with a cafeteria menu any option can be put on or taken off of any base starting point. :roxor: Now I realize thats way too expensive for any manufacturer to do but a guy can dream right?:patriot:
