I could be wrong but I heard that 2007 is the last year of the LS2?! Has anybody else heard this? If so, then the camaro should get the LS3 6.2 liter 436 hp motor?!

I'm pretty sure the LS3 will be one of the engines
You're sure, as in you've heard from someone that knows, or you're sure as in it's the most logical and best choice?

I think its the most logical choice (due to the competition having a 425hp Challenger) and best (because it what a lot of people are expecting; why disappoint the customer?) But I wouldnt be 100% sure on it. Im open to surprise. But I hope its at least as powerful and has the potential of the LS3.

It better have the LS3 or there will be alot of disappointed performance enthusiats out there

Plus just look at recent history:

C6 Vette got LS2, gto (camaro substitute) gets LS2
C5 Vette got LS1, f-bodies get LS1
C4 Vette got LT1, f-bodies get LT1

I'd say it's destiny. We have to get the LS3!!!!!!

I've been told by my dlr that LS3 will be in the Z28. I'm first on our locl dlr list and am hoping for an SS model with some CAI like the 01. That should bump it over 450hp

Captain, you will quickly learn if you hang out around here long enough....Dealers never know wtf they're talking about.
Truth be told, NOONE knows for sure what engine will be in it.

Before I wasn't so sure, but now, I'd say yeah, we're getting the LS3, possibly even the L76. This is just my feeling on it. Think about it. GM can't afford to screw this up, if they start out with a weak engine a lot of people are going to be very disappointed and look elsewhere. In this day and age GM not only has to worry about compition from Chrysler and Ford but imports as well. If this car is going to succed it has to be a hit right from the start not a year or two from now.

Depends on who has more pull inside the company at the time, the engineers or the accountants.

i dont care what number or name they give the engine. if the ls2 is leaving, they obviously have somthing to replace it. and im sure its no wussy engine. so whether its an l76, ls3, twvpy787463, or ss1, im still going for the most powerful one.

Personally, I think a twvpy787463 would pretty much end all engine development ever, and would certainly be my top choice.

lol, i guess it depends on what the specs are for it... as long as they make the most horsepower/torque then like i said, you can call it whatever you want, im calling it "my 09 Camaro's powerhouse" and they can make a new one every 5 years, i will still have one bad aSS ride.
