so I have an issue - my ac silver plastic handle has broken off the center ac vent. the cost for the part - entire ac vent kit is around $60 - the problem is, in order to replace the entire vent, the dashboard will have to come off at a cost of about $500.00 --hmmmm, I'm not sure I want to spend $500.00 on a 6 year old car to replace a broken plastic ac vent handle. Does anyone know if I buy the part/kit- would the plastic piece just snap on? My collision repair shop is not returning my calls regarding me just ordering the part and "doing" it myself.

I couldn't find it on GM Parts ... I think I maybe have see chrome ones somewhere, but at the moment, it escapes me ...
