Hi everyone. I hope someone has some ideas for this.
I am looking to upgrade my 2010 2LT/RS Camaro's passenger seat to either an electric adjustable base (like the drivers seat), or a manual base that allows for the seat to raise higher off the floor.
My wife is petite, and she can not see out the front windshield comfortably with the stock seat, and ends up sitting on a pillow.
PS. I have read the manual, and it shows a height adjustment, but that must be for the manual drivers seat. Can that base possibly be retro'd to the passenger side??
I have also read prior threads about this, but none had any good info. Lots of jokester ideas, but no useful real life, 25 years of marriage type ideas.

Wife uses a padded wedge seat she got from Wally World. Cheap and easy and she likes it.

They sell pads for wooden kitchen chairs, maybe one of those would work? Maybe cushions for outdoor furniture?

Maybe a foam seat cushion found at home medical supply outlets? Something like this: Carex Seat Cushion with memory foam

Is there any intelligent life out there with a permanent solution to get the passenger seat height adjustable? Cussions, pillows, booster seats, and the like are a copout. There has to be a solution out there in the engineering world. :bowdown::notworthy::bowdown::notworthy::bowdown:

you could figure out how to take a factory driver seat frame and electronics and reverse everything onto the passenger seat. haven't seen it done yet

Personally, I wouldn't mess with the seat track or mechanism. That is asking for potential trouble in the event of an accident.

Nothing wrong with the ideas I posted, that is what they are meant for

If you take the drivers seat electronics there should not be any issues with an accident. . why would there be?

I am going to look into this issue this winter. going to try and swap the mounting system and move the electronic buttons.

I know plenty of guys with mid-80s G-body cars and they've successfully wired in electric passenger buckets and made it look factory. They modified a driver's side seat track and controls and mated it to the passengers side. Works like a champ and the mounting points are still original and the seat is just as safe as the driver's side.

The other, albeit unproven method, is to put spacer plates under the seat mounts. But that brings its own set of problems.

If you don't want to do any engineeering like that, then use the cushion. That is all.

OEM Supplier information


Hey everyone. Somewhere on this site I came accross a list of OEM suppliers and the parts they supply for our Camaros. Any help in finding that again would be appreciated. I have searched with no luck.

Why I am looking for them, is for the seat / slider supplier. I have measured and looked over the drivers and passenger bases, and am convinced that they are identical. That said, I want to try to change out the slider mounting on the passenger seat, with the manual driver seat slider mount, that has the height adjustment feature.
At the very least, I can found out from the supplier if there is something available for the passenger seat.
Any help with where I can get the manual drivers seat track set up directly would be appreciated.

Great information. Thanks. :thumbsup: Found the seat tracks w/ adjuster for about $300.
But still looking for the actual manufacturer of the tracks so I can inquire directly about having something specific for the passenger side with height adjustment.
