i was wondering 1 if you can get away by just replacing the afm lifters to lets say the ls7 lifters and it be ok for a non dod/afm cam or would that just screw up everything in your system?. 2 are the afm friendly cams a good choice and give me good power if i don't have the money to go all the way? and 3 does anyone know of some companies besides TSP, livernoise, and lingenfelter to purchase a afm/dod delete kit?

you could just get a DiabloSport inTune or Trinity programmer and click a button to flash a tune to the ECM and disable the DOD/AFM very easily.... ;)

MUCH easier than doing all of that stuff....

yeah....don't bother changing the lifters unless you're doing a cam too....just get a tune if all you want to do is get rid of the AFM.

Here's my opinion. . . If you are going to void your power train warranty... better make it worth it and stick a Whipple on it.

Just picked up my whipple last week. Installing next week.

I don't see the reason to do it unless you are going big power... not worth the void for 50-65hp.

That's awesome! Hope you enjoy your Whipple.

I would do it more for the sound than anything if it didn't void my warranty. With the aftermarket exhaust I have, I can hear every time the AFM kicks in and out. The noise bothers me, but most people who ride with me don't even notice it. When I drive in manual mode I don't hear it, so apparently the AFM isn't active in manual mode. I'm assuming this is common knowledge.

If I get the Diablo or Trinity & flash the computer, I can just re-flash it before I drive into the dealer ship right?
...think the answer is a yes but never had a hand held tuner

You can't fool the dealership software. They know if anything was changed no matter what you try to do. You can restore the original software in the EMC but can not reset the flash bit that is changed by one diget every time it is connected to something other than the GM network. That number is called the "check sum" and only stored in the GM database with VIN number.

I'm with You MIKEUR. The car is already fast enough, I love the handling. It's that freak'n drone kicking in sounds like *****. With CAI, Borla axle backs and a few other small tinkers. I know ol' Murphy's law would piss away the $$$ I spent for the 7 year warranty if I put the tune (THAT I SO WANT) on the car.
SUCKS.....
