Why only 2 mpg over non hybrid?
That seems like a minimal gain in mpg to me.

It's probably the mild hybrid system.
Inexpensive to produce and sell, but yeilds the lowest MPG difference.
Same system as featured in the Saturn Aura Green Line.
That said...
I think it's a great high-visual spot to put the car in!
