I've tried with stabilitrac on and off, I've tried with TC on and off, both off and both on. I've used paddle shift, not used it, just left it in "manual" but not touched them so it'd do it's thing. I've left it in drive. I also don't know if starting in 1st gear to 2nd and to 3rd is best for accelerating or if 2nd all the way to 60mph?? What about 1st to 3rd, simply clicking quickly twice with the paddle?? Basically, What's the best way to practice/use to accelerate the quickest with a stock L99??? How about burning the tires first?? Is it useful? I'm sure it is as I watch people brake torque the **** out of their tires before launching but I just don't understand much of the "implied" or "understood" logic/knowledge behind some of what I see getting done and some of it I'm just not sure of the sequence. I like driving the car, but people often ask??? Show me what it's got, Get Sideways!!" and I feel intimidated and "called out" to do something that I'm not entirely SURE how to do. Sad but true.......

I spun the tires once... once. After seeing how much they cost to replace on tirerack.com, I decided I'm not wealthy enough to do burnouts on request. Anyway, if I had a dollar for every time someone said, "just floor it" with respect to launching the auto, I'd be able to afford one tire.

oh, yeah, agreed, and I pretty much do the same. I'm by no means supporting that kind of juvenile behavior. I'm simply looking for advice on "how best to accelerate the car"

with my 2SS A6, right now with a new cam and 3600 tc, intake/exhaust, from a complete stop manual mode is the best, starting in 1st gear, with competition mode, it gets up to 5000 fast then second gear. from what i understand having competion mode on meaning tc and sc off, that is the best start. i seem to have better times with the manual mode than the automatic but then again mine is not stock and i have not official been to the track, hopefully next week though;)

thanks, I agree, (mine is stock but still I seem to feel the same as you do), I was looking for your experience and opinion, you gave them to us. thanks again. Actually, I've really mellowed out with my driving the car some. I think I'm falling into "uh oh, I'm gonna need this car every day for the rest of my life mode" hahahahhahahah....sad again but still true. I will not be driving a 2nd car basically at all. I use it for to and from work, escorting customers around, grandbaby visitation, the whole bit. I still wanna be able to "cut loose" and have a terrific time with it though. ...but HEY it's Friday night, I think I'm about to go tear up some road.....:5go:

Mine def launches best when in "M" and left tapped down into M1, with TC off. It winds up quick so be prepared to shift and do it at 5500rpm. That seems to be a sweet spot for me/mine. YMMV.

I am running DT shorties, no muffs, 160 T-stat on 91 octane(CA, that's all we get ) and soon to have the C.A.I intake installed. (UPS delayed shipment!!)

manual mode engaged in 1st gear... competition mode enabled... left foot on brake... right foot pressing the throttle to 1500-2000 rpm (enough so the tires don't spin)... green light... release the brake and stomp the throttle... hit every shift at 5600 rpm (helps to have a shift light!)... and i just ran a 12.46 @ 111 mph!

U should ask octane.. He has some really good times with his car.. I smoke tires too much.. My friends make the joke that I have my own tire shop the way I go through tires..

I must now amend this statement a bit. I now have the C.A.I unit on and the computer has relearned it and HOLY **** I can't get any traction on the launch if I punch it.

So now I have to launch in 2nd or keep the TC on in first. I am still testing some to see which one is quicker off the line. I only peddled it once in 1st w/TC off and I think I need to try that a few more times...

Manual mode on, Competition mode on, launch in 1st gear driving almost to redline every gear using paddle shifters (look at the HUD for RPM). It lauches fast, have taken down Pont GTs, 06-07 Vettes, Lexus, Z350...Want to power slide around corners, start off in the same sequence and puch it, but don't shift to 3rd gear to fast, tires spin just fine going around corners in high RPMs in 2nd gear. Took down a Lexus IS F (416 HP V-8) yesterday, I was behind him and we were turning left onto a two lane highway, light turned green, he took the inside lane I took the outside lane, started my Camaro 2SS in 1st gear as above, before I turned the corner paddle shifted to 2nd gear, power slide a bit and before I hit 3rd gear was already blowing by him no problem. Got up to about 70 real quick and he new he was done. Slowed down the road to cruise controll at 55 MPH as he came along side me and gave me a big thumbs up. My Camaro=2011 2SS, Auto, Borla S-Type CatBack exhaust, HallTech CAI (huge air filter, 101mm tube w/heat shield). Blows them away. Drive it like I stole it :>)

Why you talking about street road racing in here? And not everyone has HUD. The assumption factor is strong in this one.
