I just bought a 94 camaro z28 with a automatic tranny. One the way home it was going good. but the last few days it wont shift unless i force the shift with the gas pedal. it hits all the gears when i force shift it. the tranny was rebuilt in February. someone told me it could be a cable but idk figured id see what u guys have to say. so any information would be great.

Did they still have vacuum modulators then? I think the 94s were still rockin the 700R4 and not the 4L60E so it should have a vacuum modulator. That COULD be your problem.

It is a 4L60E. Hmmm...Solenoid maybe? If you're sure it's not the actual transmission since it was just rebuilt. Cable doesn't make sense on a 4L60E either.

Out of curiousity, have you check the "hot" fluid level?

There are several shift solinoides in the 4L60E and any sticking can be an issue. If it is a 700R4 the detent cable out of proper adjustment will cause problems.
