Does the camaro have any hope of being an autocrosser or is that up to the Solstice and Skys? I know it will have the muscle, but what about negotiating cones on a real twisty autocross course? The corvette is pretty big considering all things, and so is the Camaro. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as I make my decision down the road for an autocrosser.

The Camaro should handle very well. I think this Camaro is geared more toward the curves than the straits.

It'll definitely handle well.
In a few months you can go test drive a Pontiac G8, that'll give you some idea of how a Camaro will feel seeing as it's the same chassis and suspension.
Though Camaro's suspension may be tuned a little sportier.

I agree. I think this machine will do good in every genre. I hope to see a z/28 option for handling and SS option for straight line.

I hope so, I'm not much of a straight line person, I live in the mountains, and there aren't many straight roads around here..lol

If your region is anything like mine, you should stop by and check it out. It doesn't cost anything to do that, and once you do it, you'll be hooked. Most of the time, you can walk up to drivers and ask to go for a ride.

I really don't understand exactly how it works. I have friends that are in to it. But I do admit I've seen them do it it does look fun. When I say I don't understand how it works I mean how score is kept and every thing a buudy of mine just went this weekend and did a 53 or 54 what ever that means

Ever since I went to the Chevy RevItUp! event last summer, I've been really interested in getting into autocross.
It's alot of fun cuz you get to treat your car like a go-kart. :lol:
And with the short on-track time, it's not real hard ono your car either.
